Cresco Awards
Businesses and Municipalities for the Sustainable Development of Local Areas
Cresco Awards recognizes the commitment of Italian municipalities that stand out in promoting sustainable development. The project is promoted by Fondazione Sodalitas with the sponsorship and collaboration of ANCI – the National Association of Italian Municipalities.
Making local areas more inclusive, safe, and able to offer a better quality of life is a challenge shared by institutions, businesses, and civil society. It is also a priority set by the United Nations through the Sustainable Development Goals, which call for “making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.”
Our experience with Cresco Awards
Through our integrated and multidisciplinary approach, we have shown how communication can be a key tool in helping public administrations achieve ambitious objectives such as those defined by the United Nations SDGs.
What did we achieve together?
After a careful evaluation, we chose to honor the Municipality of Fabbriche di Vergemoli for the project “Houses for 1 Euro.” This initiative transformed abandoned buildings into opportunities for sustainable development. By involving the local community and international partners, it revitalized the area and promoted new economic activities. A virtuous model that enhances local resources and contributes directly to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
We also awarded the “Fairy Tale Trails” project of the Municipality of Sarmede, which successfully combined art, culture, and sustainability. By enhancing local heritage and raising awareness on the 2030 Agenda, it created an educational and tourist path involving artists, the community, and younger generations - demonstrating how creativity and sustainable development can generate long-lasting value for the territory.
